Chrysler is recalling 471 model-year 2012 versions of its minivans to deal with liftgate problems, consistent with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Certain Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravans with power liftgates use a faulty liftgate pinch sensor. This will result in the liftgate closing on a body part and an increased risk of harm.
The affected vehicles were made of March 9 through March 12, 2012. You may check your vehicle's build date on a sticker at the driver-side doorjamb.
Chrysler will notify owners later this month, and dealers will inspect and replace the affected parts without cost. Owners can call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.
