The man, the parable, the legendarily zany Russell Brand will host the MTV Movie Awards on June 3, the cable network officially confirmed this week.
The comedian, who has hosted the MTV VMAs twice, will front the ceremony for the 1st time on the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.
Brand said, "This MTV Movie Awards might be more impressive than The Avengers and also you don't have to attend an hour for somebody to Hulk out."
MTV President Stephen Friedman also said of the 36-year old's involvement:
"Together with his amazing ability to span the complete spectrum of comedy from the main high to low-brow, Russell's smart, unpredictable wit uniquely connects to our audience."
"His rock-n-roll sensibility and fearlessness give us the ideal partner with whom to take a leap of religion with as we meld the worlds of flicks and music on one very special night."
