Chrysler is recalling 129 model-year 2012 versions of the Ram 1500 pickup truck as a result of an incorrectly sized spare tire, consistent with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The affected vehicles were manufactured on Jan. 5 and six, 2012, and feature a spare tire that does not match the dimensions listed at the tire placard. Installing the inaccurate size tire may cause the electronic stability system to have interaction unexpectedly, increasing the chance of harm. You may check your vehicle's build date on a sticker at the driver-side doorjamb.
Chrysler will notify owners later this month, and dealers will inspect and replace the spare tire without cost. Owners can call Chrysler at 800-853-1403 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.
