Considering it's presupposed to be a democratic free-for-all, Steam was running a good ship lately. We've already seen a video of a forthcoming native client for Linux, and now there is a new beta client for Windows and Mac that still brings something different: remote game management. This could prevent time by letting you trigger the download and installation of a title for your home computer if you are still within the office or at the move, via any web browser. That said, this kind of thing was already possible using remote desktop apps, and up to now the community response to the buggy beta was decidedly mixed -- so be sure to read up on Valve's forum (on the source link) before you are expecting to seek out your slippers, Pinot Grigio and Sniper Elite V2 all lined-up and waiting after you get home.
