PSA: TurboTax on Android is free through Sunday once you start your taxes before then

If you have ever filed your taxes on an iPad, you understand Intuit's TurboTax app is free to download, but that you will have to pay up once you are prepared to submit those returns. But, with the intention to promote its newish apps for Android tablets and the Kindle Fire, the company's giving the complete number-crunching cow away free of charge -- in any case through this weekend. Just download between tomorrow (Friday) and Sunday and ensure you begin your taxes before Monday (it's okay in case you finish them later). To be clear, this includes both federal and state-level taxes, which you would normally pay for separately for $29.99 and up. Another quid pro quo: this would possibly not work on handsets, although the Kindle runs a customised version of Android 2.3. In case you own a tablet it's going to run smoothly on Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich, though. In spite of everything, to these of you who've been taking out your taxes, happy downloading, procrastinators.
