US, Brazil Presidents Meet at White House

U.S. President Barack Obama is meeting with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff on the White House for talks aimed toward strengthening ties between the 2 countries.  

The White House says Monday's meeting will specialize in quite a lot of regional and bilateral issues and springs as section of an on-going dialogue in regards to the growing partnership between both nations.

It is Rousseff's first visit  to the us as Brazil's leader.

The meeting comes only a year after Obama's trip to Brazil where he met with  former President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva.

Rousseff, who's traveling with a delegation of ministers, also will attend a one-day binational forum on the Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

Earlier Monday, on the opening of the forum, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced plans to open two new consulates within the country. Clinton will meet later with Brazilian Foreign minister Antonio Patriota to sign cooperation agreements.
