Windows Phone Marketplace now available in Iceland and 12 other countries

Here's some excellent news for those of you in Bulgaria, Iceland and a handful of different countries: the Windows Phone Marketplace has just arrived at the doorstep. Microsoft heralded its arrival in a blog post today, enumerating a grand total of 13 new markets: Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela. Today's announcement comes quite a few months after the Marketplace launched in Argentina, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru and the Philippines, expanding Windows Phone's global coverage to a complete of 54 countries. Some developers could be befuddled as to why the App Hub hasn't been expanding as fast because the Marketplace, but in response to Microsoft's Todd Brix, the delay can largely be attributed to regulatory red tape.
